Alphonse Mucha and the « art nouveau » style

Main actor of the « art nouveau » mouvement in Paris in the 1900’s, Alphonse Mucha was born in Moravia in 1860, the Musée du Luxembourg pays a tribute to the artist during an exhibition held from September 12th to January 27th.

Having become famous thanks to the poster of Sarah Bernhardt for the promotion of the play Gismonda, he then became a reference in Paris for advertising, posters and even Jewelery decor for Georges Fouquet.
